Linguamatics
Linguamatics was founded in late 2001 to create world-class products and conduct cutting-edge research in the areas of Information Extraction and Dialogue Systems.
The founders have extensive
experience in the field of Computational Linguistics, in academic research
and in product development.
David Milward (Chief Technology Officer) David has over 15 years experience of product development, consultancy and core research in Natural Language Processing. He is widely published in the areas of spoken dialogue, information extraction, parsing, syntax and semantics, and has served as a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College. He was a Senior Computer Scientist at SRI International, and a Lecturer at Edinburgh University. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge.
Roger Hale (Chief Operating Officer) Roger has over 20 years experience in commercial management and computing R&D, most recently at SRI International and De Montfort University. He holds a PhD from Cambridge University.
Sylvia Knight Sylvia has recently been awarded a PhD from Cambridge University Computer Laboratory, relating to statistical Natural Language Processing and its applications within industry. She has also worked at SRI International on robust dialogue, semantics and speech understanding.
James Thomas James has both an MPhil and PhD from Cambridge University, the focus of his research in both degrees being the complex ways in which temporal information can be expressed in English. More recently he has worked on Information Extraction at SRI International.
