Mr John M. Brimacombe (Executive Chairman)
John is a serial entrepreneur. After graduating in Law and Computer Science from Trinity College, Cambridge, he founded Jobstream Group plc, which provides specialist ERP software to the international financial services sector. He subsequently co-founded pioneering mobile entertainment start-up nGame Ltd., which was acquired by Hands-On Mobile Inc. John served as President/COO of HandsOn Mobile for over 2 years, leading the company through 7 major M&A transactions and massive global expansion.

He is a Partner at Sussex Place Ventures, the resident venture-capital firm at the London Business School, is a seed-investor in multiple US and UK start-ups and is a non-executive Board member at 2006 Reseller of the Year, Kelway, and of quoted investment funds Core VCT I Plc and Core VCT II & III Plc.

Dr David Milward (Chief Technology Officer)
David has over 15 years experience of product development, consultancy and research in Natural Language Processing. He was a cofounder of Linguamatics, and designed the I2E text mining system which uses a novel interactive approach to information extraction. He has been involved in applying text mining to applications in the life sciences for the last 8 years, initially as a Senior Computer Scientist at SRI International.

David has a PhD from the University of Cambridge, and was a researcher and lecturer at the University of Edinburgh. He is widely published in the areas of information extraction, spoken dialogue, parsing, syntax and semantics.

Dr Roger Hale (Chief Operating Officer) 
Roger has over 20 years experience in technology management and computing R&D. Before founding Linguamatics he worked for SRI International and De Montfort University. During his time with SRI International in Cambridge, he was involved in project management, IP licencing and research for numerous commercial and non-commercial clients including Telia, Philips, Pearson, Innogy, Inmos and DERA as well as European and US government agencies.

Roger's background is in mathematics and computer science. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge.

Dr Phil Hastings (Business Development Director)
Phil has 15 years of experience in the scientific information and software industries. He worked for a number of years in commercial and product management roles for both Wiley and the Thomson Corporation and prior to joining Linguamatics spent over five years at Accelrys, most recently as marketing and business development director. Phil holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham.
