(23 October 2008, Cambridge, UK) Linguamatics Ltd, a leader in enterprise text mining for the life science and other markets, recently held its Fall Users Conference in Cambridge, MA, October 7-9, hosted by Biogen Idec. Attracting participants from many top pharmaceutical, biotechnology and other life science organizations, the conference program featured speakers from Pfizer, Biogen Idec, AstraZeneca and Wyeth, in addition to presentations by Linguamatics technology experts and open roundtable discussions on evolving requirements for enterprise text-mining. Speakers highlighted a number of case studies where the I2E semantic knowledge-discovery platform is delivering significant business value for a variety of applications from R&D to Business Intelligence.
Participants were able to preview some of the powerful new text mining capabilities targeted for release in early 2009, in addition to benefiting from hands-on workshops and opportunities for networking within the Linguamatics user community. Software previews focused on enhancements that will provide greater accessibility and scalability for enterprise knowledge discovery deployments of I2E.
"Linguamatics technology is enabling our customers to extract the hidden value from unstructured and semi-structured resources across the whole life sciences value chain from early stage discovery, through development, clinical, marketing, and business intelligence," commented Roger Hale, COO and Co-founder of Linguamatics. "Another successful Users Conference demonstrates the expansion of adoption within the life science sector - both in terms of an expanding user base and broader applications where I2E is solving high value problems."
