Speakers & Bios:
Joe Kimura, Chief Medical Officer at Atrius Health
Joe Kimura, MD MPH is Chief Medical Officer of Atrius Health and an internist at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a medical practice of Atrius Health. He has broad experience leading ambulatory care delivery system improvements with specialty expertise in clinical informatics and healthcare data analytics. Dr. Kimura has held multiple positions within Atrius Health including Medical Director for Analytics and Reporting Systems and Medical Director for Quality Measurement. Since 2014, he has served as co-chair of the ONC HIT federal advisory workgroup on Advanced Health Models and Meaningful Use. Dr. Kimura has been nationally recognized as a Top 25 Clinical Informaticists by Modern Healthcare in 2012 and one of thirty leading CMIO experts by Health Data Management in 2016.
Dr. Kimura was an undergraduate at Stanford University, received his medical degree from Washington University, and his public health degree from Harvard University. He completed his primary care internal medicine residency at the University of California in San Francisco and his health services research fellowship in the Department of Ambulatory Care and Prevention at Harvard Medical School. He completed the advanced management program at MIT Sloan School of Management with certification in Management, Innovation, and Technology.
Craig Monsen, Medical Director of Analytics at Atrius Health
Craig Monsen is a board-certified internist and clinical informaticist. He serves as the Medical Director of Analytics and Reporting at Atrius Health, is a fellow at the University of Washington's Department of Biomedical Informatics and Medical Education, and has co-founded two health IT startups. His current work includes operationalizing advanced analytics to enable the transformation to value-based care as well as building new products that help clinicians make sense of the deluge of patient data they face today.
Prior to medical training at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, he received Highest Honors in engineering and computer science at Harvard and completed his MD at Johns Hopkins, where he served as the President of the Medical Student Senate.
He writes and has been an invited speaker on topics of consumer engagement, applied predictive analytics, and health care interoperability and continues to cultivate his interest in leveraging emerging technologies to support the quadruple aim in healthcare.
Simon Beaulah, Senior Director of Healthcare at Linguamatics
Simon Beaulah is responsible for Linguamatics’ healthcare products and solutions including applications in the areas of clinical risk models, population health, and medical research.
Previously, Simon was Marketing Director, Translational Medicine at IDBS/InforSense where he was responsible for the company’s market analysis, product marketing and Go To Market strategy in healthcare analytics and translational medicine. Prior to IDBS, he was Director of Product Management at BioWisdom, where he was responsible for delivery of customer projects using the company’s ontology products. He also worked as a senior product manager at LION Bioscience and Synomics, and as a software developer at the UK’s Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.
Simon has degrees from Aston University and Cranfield Institute of Technology.
